Carleen has a wealth of coaching experience across multiple aesthetic disciplines and a passion for all things aerial. She completed a 2:1 BSc (Hons) Sport & Exercise Science at the University of Exeter and the knowledge gained there underpins the coaching ethos she has carved out today.

With a background working in competitive trampoline, the transition into flying trapeze was both an exciting and complimentary opportunity. After first being introduced to flying trapeze whilst in South Africa, she later had the chance to develop her skills further at Gorilla Circus in London. Over the past few years, she has honed her skills as a coach, catcher and flyer and has also performed both in the UK and abroad. She is fortunate to have worked with a number of first class coaches who have acted as important mentors and also provide continual inspiration in her drive to improve as a coach. Tailoring trampoline classes specifically to flying trapeze development, has facilitated faster progression and better aerial awareness for those flyers who have taken her classes. Her understanding of both disciplines is a distinct advantage in her approach to teaching flying trapeze.

She is an encouraging and technical coach with an eye for the smaller details that really make the difference in skill progression.
